Recorded from about 0515 in the morning. This is in a suburban garden in essex, uk. A blackbird can be heard through most of the recording. Other birds that can be heard are pheasant, robin, woodpigeon, wren, collared dove, peacock (not native but this bird is living wild in the area), carrion crow, black headed gull, starling, magpie and goldfinch. The recording was made with a sennheiser k6/me66 microphone on a tripod attached to a zoom h5. There has been some noise reduction and editing with audacity. The editing was mainly to reduce the worst of the aircraft noise. There is still some aircraft and other human-related noise as well as some wind occasionally.

A light thunderstorm in carrboro, nc. Not too much wind or heavy rain, but some very good thunder claps. As the thunder slowly fades away, some distant traffic and a siren can be heard. Recorded on a zoom h2. This was uploaded as vorbis instead of flac or wav because it's quite long but i thought people might find it useful to have the whole thing. Some intelligent de-clipping was also performed in audacity to remove some slight distortion from the loudest claps.

Bumper cars bumping into each other creates beautiful crashes and the laughter and mumbling of children are ever-present. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in an actual arcade. An eastern-european musician playing guitar in a paris subway train. I was on my way to downtown paris when this guy started singing for money. I chose to record the scene because i thought this was a typical parisian soundscape, something parisian subway users experiment every day, and a real insight on how this city actually sounds. I happened to be sitting in one of these new line 5 trains. I think theyre audio footprint is much smoother than the old trains. . . Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode.

Recorded by peter speer. Formatted for use in the make noise morphagene. Footsteps over ice and snow. Recorded in stereo on a zoom h6, december 17, 2018 in asheville, nc. This reel has been divided into 24, evenly spaced 4-second splices. I've found some great textures through playing the reel back at 1x speed, with gene-size, morph, slide and organize modulated by sequencers, random cv and cycling lfos. Time stretching the reel also leads to some fantastic new environments. Enjoy!.

Part 2 of 2. Zoom h4n recording from my balcony during new year's eve 2012. You can hear both close and far away pops, booms, whizzes, and a lot of reverb from the surrounding buildings. Some of it might even be suitable as background sound for films dealing with war and urban combat since that's basically how it sounded here all night. Enjoy!.

The sound of birds and distant thunder awoke me from a long nap, and so i sprung off the couch and grabbed my recording equipment, dashing outside just in time to record the arrival of a thunderstorm. Over the course of this clip, the storm gets closer and closer, until it starts to rain with increasing intensity. The clip is nicely unmolested by wind, and contains a nice background of birds. A tremendous thunderclap is featured in the middle, three minutes in.
